Two words. AWESOME and WOW! I bought a second hand Okuma Interceptorfrom eBay and to say it was knackered when I received it would be an understatement. I duly sent the reel to him, expecting to be told that it wasn't repairable. He contacted me to confirm he had received it and had repaired and serviced it there and then (I had authorised him to just proceed and fix it regardless of cost). This guy is a real artist (forgive the pun) We tried every where to get new worm drive for the level wind on my T20L. No joy. But John phoned me saying if he removed the level wind altogether I would still have a very serviceable reel. he removed level wind completely he then adapted the side plates so that he could put a chrome bar across where the level wind had been to keep the rigidity, and a very professional job he made of it. It looks like an original part of the reel. Great service great price and he keeps you informed

A Savage Gear Roadrunner rod had snapped spectacularly and Svensden Sports put me through to John as they no longer make the older models. He offered a stunning service to repair it for me as no spare sections exist and its now back fishing, with the break all but invisible and as good as new! Outstanding service, great communication and incredibly fast turn around! Hope I'm as lucky in my fishing as well now!

Many thanks for a very rapid and excellent service and repair to my two boat reels. Much recommended, and great value for money.

I submitted my Daiwa reel to John for a service/repair after a failed service attempt by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing. This actually left the reel in a worse condition than it had been prior to the 'service'. I was a little worried that the problem may have been terminal, or very costly to repair. I shouldn't have been. John serviced and repaired the reel the same day, for the ridiculously reasonable price of a tenner. He emailed me a detailed report of the work carried out, and some sensible advice. First class job carried out very speedily, the reel came back as good as new and I can't recommend him enough.

I contacted John for some Penn reel bearings, although he was away he answered my e.mail straight away explaining that he would be back in two days time and be in a position to supply the parts, I had a confirmation e.mail the next day, and, as stated, he contacted me again, when he got back,giving me some advice re the bearings, the parts were ordered and arrived very quickly, registered mail.
I can honestly say that the service was first rate, and the costs very competetive, even though it was only a small order John went the extra mile .
I will certainly be ordering any reel parts I need from 'Reel Value' in the future.

Fantastic service!. Had to wait for a few parts, but John kept me completely informed with phonecalls. I was completely happy with this. Smashing service - will promote this to all my friends

Looking for spools for now old okuma reels, struggled to find at all the usual sources to no avail or silly prices. Got two spools plus p&p very resonable. The highlight however was not getting spools but finding a fellow fisherman offering advice and who clearly knows his products, buisness and actually gives a damn. Best service I have come across in years.

John sorted me out with a hard to find spool for an okuma enduro reel, top bloke and friendly service is hard to find in this day and age.

the bail spring broke on an old daiwa spinning reel i have i couldn't source one anywhere i found the reel value website and emailed john he said to post the reel to him and he do his best to repair it. i posted it on 19/03 i got an email from john on the evening 20/03 that he had made a bail spring and the bail arm was working fine i got my reel back on the 23/03 amazing service and i can't thank john enough and will certainly use him again in the future
